What’s Neuro-linguistic Programming (NLP)?
In a nutshell, NLP is the study of the structure of subjective experience. But what does that mean for your clients?
Let’s say your client has a smoking habit they just can’t kick. Your client’s subjective experiences have contributed to that smoking habit. There are reasons they started smoking in the first place, triggers that make them light up throughout the day, emotional reactions they get from smoking, etc.
But they don’t have to stay stuck in the structure of those experiences; you can help them reframe. Through NLP, you can help them enter a relaxed state where their subconscious mind is fully open to suggestions. You can find out what mental images they see in their head surrounding their smoking habit and the internal dialogue they hear when they light up-and you can help them change those images and words.
For example, you could manipulate their mental image of a cigarette into a revolting one or change the voice of their internal monologue into a hideous villain’s. And you can help these changes sink into deep neural layers where they will have maximum impact.
NLP is wonderfully diverse. Just as it can help someone stop smoking or lose weight, it can help an athlete or musician excel. Many of the world’s top performers (think Olympic athletes or inspirational life coaches like Tony Robbins) are using NLP techniques to catalyze their personal development.
The NLP reframing that takes place in the subconscious can lead to big changes in your clients’ behaviors. As a certified NLP practitioner, you can help clients overcome obstacles they’ve battled for years-often in just several sessions.
Why Certification Matters
It’s far easier to inspire trust in referral sources and potential clients when you can point to rock-solid credentials. Our prestigious certification program tells the world that you didn’t just hang out a shingle and claim to be an NLP expert. Rather, you participated in a highly rigorous, six-month, intensive certification course taught by Georgia’s best-reviewed NLP-hypnosis practitioner.
Your certification requires you to complete 80 hours of live, in-person training followed by 50 hours of supervised client work. After successful completion, you’ll receive official credentials to show the world that you are a trained NLP expert.
Am I a Candidate for Neuro-linguistic Programming Certification?
This certification may be the right fit for you if:
- You’re already a coach or therapist and want to offer even more help to your clients through NLP.
- You feel stuck or unsatisfied in your current career and want to start something new.
- You’re tired of answering to a boss and working crazy hours. You want the freedom to work on your terms.
- You want a skillset that allows you to help other people in a profound way.
- You’re ready to put in the hard work and time (6 months) to master the practice of NLP.
- You want a lucrative skill. (Graduates of our course often charge upwards of $250 per session.)
What’s the Difference Between Neuro-linguistic Programming and Hypnosis?
These are distinct but complementary therapeutic approaches to personal development. You can use hypnotherapy techniques to get clients into a relaxed state where NLP techniques can have the greatest impact. You can also use hypnosis to “lock in” constructive new thought and behavior patterns at the end of a session. Hypnosis and NLP work together in a powerful synergy.

Why Choose Pure Hypnosis for Your NLP Training?
Expert Lead Trainer
Our lead trainer, Sean Wheeler, is among the leading NLP experts, certified by Richard Bandler himself (the co-founder of NLP). Sean is a Master NLP Practitioner and a Licensed NLP Trainer. He has performed more than 15,000 sessions using NLP and hypnosis.
Proven Local Reputation
Sean became a household name in Atlanta for his regular appearances on Atlanta’s most popular morning radio show—Q100’s “The Bert Show.” He was known as the “Heartbreak Hypnotist” for helping people work through relationship problems and heartache. Famously, he also helped the show’s host, Jenn Hobby, break her long-standing smoking habit through the power of NLP and hypnosis.
Sean’s home clinic, Pure Hypnosis in Atlanta, has three times the volume of 5-star reviews as any other NLP-hypnosis practice in Georgia.
Small Class Size and Personalized Mentoring
While some certification courses take place in a crowded hall with hours of lecturing, that’s a poor way to learn this craft. To master NLP, you need hands-on instruction, observation, and mentoring.
We limit our intensive, in-person trainings to small groups. That way, Sean can facilitate hands-on practice and mentoring. As you hone your skills, Sean observes your processes, giving you helpful feedback. It’s a low-ratio, personalized, immersive experience—the most effective model for an NLP course.
Weekend Training Schedule
We understand that many of our students are busy professionals, so we currently schedule our trainings on weekends (typically over four weekends).
Supervised Work
We don’t just train you and send you out into the world to figure it out. Our certification requires 50 hours of supervised client work, so we can help you fine-tune your skills on the job. By the time you complete your supervised hours and get your certification, you’ll be confident and ready to start seeing clients and changing lives.
Business in a Box
Just because you’re good at Neuro-linguistic Programming doesn’t mean you’re a business whiz, but we set you up to do both well. Through our Business in a Box feature, we give you the ready-made operational tools you need to structure your practice scheduling, payment processing, fees, and policies.
We also help you master marketing and networking so you can scale your practice. We give you plug-and-play tools for search engine optimization, social media marketing, email campaigns, and more.
Group Hypnosis
Hypnosis is a powerful tool to help clients solidify new behaviors and thought patterns. It’s also a highly effective way to help students lock in new skills. That’s why our course participants undergo group hypnosis. It helps them integrate new skills and the confidence to use those skills like a pro.
Service Areas
Our courses take place at our Buckhead location, with participants coming from:
Midtown
Sandy Springs
Johns Creek
Decatur
Peachtree Corners
Because of our weekend courses, our training is accessible to out-of-town participants who want to drive or fly in for our weekend intensives.

Aren't there cheaper NLP courses out there?
Cheaper programs often pack attendees into a crowded venue for a lecture. Thanks to economies of scale, this lowers tuition. But talking heads can’t teach NLP like hands-on experience can.
We cap our attendance so that every student has a chance to try out techniques and be supervised by Sean Wheeler. Our prices may be higher than the lecture hall model, but the result is a wealth of hands-on experience and expert mentorship from Sean, who is a Master NLP Practitioner, a Licensed NLP Trainer, and Georgia’s best-reviewed NLP-hypnosis practitioner.
With many of our students charging $300 per NLP session upon completing the course, the return on investment is powerful.
Can I use NLP with my current practice?
Yes-NLP enhances professions like therapy and coaching. It equips you to help your clients make changes at the subconscious level, where they are especially open to changing thought processes, emotions, and behaviors.
How soon can I start using NLP?
You’ll start practicing basic techniques from day one, graduate to 50 hours of supervised clinical work, and then be fully equipped to practice independently.
